IF YOU’RE WANTING TO JUST TIDY UP YOUR BIKINI-LINE WITH, HERE’S SOME TIPS AND TRICKS FROM US ON HOW TO ACHIEVE A BIKINI WAX FROM THE COMFORT OF YOUR OWN HOME. WHY A BIKINI WAX? UNLIKE SHAVING THAT CAN LEAVE YOU WITH STUBBLE, WAXING REMOVES HAIR FROM THE ROOT LEAVING YOU WITH NEXT-LEVEL SMOOTH SKIN!
GROW IT OUT
Keep your hair long enough for the wax to grip it. Too short, and even too long, can cause the experience to be more painful and unpleasant. The ideal length of hair for a bikini wax should be no shorter than 3mm and no longer than 5mm. Tip: If hair is too long, trim to the ideal length.
Exfoliating is a must before waxing! Exfoliating helps to clear skin of impurities such as dead skin cells and clogged pores. Making sure you exfoliate can also help prevent ingrown hair. Be sure to exfoliate gently, before you begin to wax.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Marzena Natural Wax Strips or Marzena Liquid Sugar Wax (comes with application spatula and cotton wax strips).
RELAX, THEN WAX
Sometimes the pain you associate with can be a result of the anxiety you have about waxing. Relax your body and mind and take deep breaths! Make sure you apply the wax evenly and in the direction that of your hair growth. To remove the wax, hold the skin stretched firm and tight with one hand, grab the strip with the other and quickly zip back against the hair growth. Aim to keep the strip close and parallel to the skin for maximum results. Avoid waxing the same area more than once.
SOOTHE & MOISTURISE
The natural after-care wipes included in your Marzena Natural Wax Strips are an essential after-hair-removal tool to help calm the skin, minimise irritation and reduce redness. It is normal for skin to appear red after waxing, but if you experience discomfort or a burning sensation, apply a cold compress to the area.
After 24 hours, be sure to show your freshly waxed skin some TLC by moisturising with your favourite body lotion daily, but steer clear from any fragrances that may irritate the skin. Continue to exfoliate at least 3 times per week to prevent dead skin cells from clogging hair follicles and creating ingrown hairs.
